The second way is logging can be going on over trek-sim for those who cannot come on IRC. CO’s, you are encouraged to send any logs your sim may do for that week about the Federation day on your sim and they can be included on trek-sim. If you’d like also do a log summarizing events on your sim and we can post those to trek-ic, which is the division wide universe list.  OOC this will all last until 19 august to allow for as many to participate as possible.

We encourage everyone to participate in this where you are able. We’ll even be having the Head of the MACOs and some MACOs performing the Men in Tights song from the Robin Hood movie . 5 sign new UFP Constitution

SAN FRANCISCO, Earth (SNN) – Declaring it a landmark day in the history of each of their worlds, five envoys today breathed life into the fledgling United Federation of Planets with the signing of the new organization’s Constitution amid much pomp and circumstance.

“We are truly entering a brave new world of peace, exploration and security with the establishment of this Federation, declared Earth ambassador Thomas Vanderbilt, whose remarks were echoed by representatives from Vulcan, Andor, Tellar, and Alpha Centauri.

“Following the end of your world’s war with the unseen Romulan enemy, such a union as we create here today is the most logical course of action any of our peoples can take,” added Ambassador T’Jan of Vulcan.

UESPA Maj. Gen. Georges E. Picard, an aide to Vanderbilt, noted afterward the irony of the conference – which met in exactly the same fashion as the founders of the Earth’s old United Nations, who came together only 215 years earlier in the same city in the aftermath of the horrors of another costly war.*

“What is occurring here today is one sign that some good can come of such a scourge,” Picard noted.

“We defy anyone, even the Romulans, to test our resolve now for collective security,” declared Ambassador Natha Kell of Tellar, while Sarahd of Andor spoke of future greatness for the infant union and predicted rapid expansion. Ambassador Titus Oleet signed for the newly independent Centauri system.

Today’s events were but the ceremonial endgame for the often-tumultuous negotiations, which began in earnest after the defeat of hostile forces at Cheron effectively ended the Romulan War only a little more than a year ago. Even today, some sources reported a later fracas involving the Tellarite Kell and Sarahd.

Although those taking part today waived off revealing many specific details, the five after signing immediately convened the first-ever meeting of the UFP Council long enough to elect Vanderbilt as president, with Sarahd as vice president.

Also, the Council sources unanimously voted to continue meeting in San Francisco, with an all-new building in the design stages near the historic old Presidio fort and Golden Gate Bridge. Council sources predicted at least three months would be needed before the fledgling UFP bureaucracy would be ready for business.

Rather than rush into another selection amid the upcoming Presidential Elections, TrekOps has decided to appointed an interim Beta Fleet Commander to serve out the remainder of the term (August 1st) as Acting FCO. After the UCIP Presidential Elections and the next TrekOps Division Commander is selected, the appointment of the post will be re-evaluated then.

TrekOps is pleased to announce that Wolf has accepted the appointment of Acting Beta Fleet Commander with his long-time Marine Commander, Lieutenant General John Liconie (DBID 2302) to serve in the IC position. Congratulations to Wolf, and we look forward to working with him.

On SD 241005.14,Commander Jonathon Kirk was presented with the Bronze Medal for Service.

As of SD 241004.29, Commander Vokar of the USS Vindicator,  having served as Acting Commanding Officer since 241003.07, has been confirmed as Commanding Officer of the USS Vindicator by Beta Fleet Commander Rear Admiral Sean Archer.

Congratulations to both officers!

1.       They will be an active member of the Trek Division (meaning they actively sim in Trek)

2.       They will have completed sim-guide (there is no rank requirement however)

3.       They will be a member of good standing in Trek Division.

4.       They will be responsible for maintaining the wiki sections for their agency or department

5.       They will be the IC collection point of all things that need to go through Trek Operations for approval. They are then expected to make recommendations “yes or no” to the Starfleet Chief of Staff

6.       They will need to post at least one IC log once every two weeks as this will be an active SIM

7.       They need to work with the appropriate section of the academy to keep course documentation up to date

8.       They will only be allowed to hold one position in the organisational chart so that everyone gets a chance to participate, (IE one person should not be both a Fleet commander and a  Agency Director or head multiple Agencies)

9.       A Person can hold an Agency Directors position and a Department Head position (IE Head of CoE),  though that may not be in the same group IE the Director of R&D cannot be the head of the CoE.

10.   While Directorate and Department positions have IC and OOC components they are not considered ‘Staff’ positions.

There is a new department: Starfleet Archives
The purpose of this department is the long-term storage of relevant historical data concerning Starfleet diplomacy (contracts, agreements, treaties etc.), military efforts, history of the staff and command positions, crew records, promotion and award history, video and audio recordings of high profile events, local and foreign art, etc.

This department will also assist in the maintenance of  the databases/wikis used in fleet wide operations, like species, races, weaponry, ship specs, technology, cultures, planets, star charts etc. And as such will be working very closely with R&D, Science, Engineering, Medical and the diplomatic areas. It will be the primary contact point for the search and retrieval of historical information and a key advisor for diplomatic and military missions. If they don’t know it off the top of their head they know who to ask and where to find the information, think chief librarian. As they will pretty much keep the timeline of Starfleet intact, this department should be led by an experienced, long time simmer within UCIP.
