UCIP’s Star Trek Universe set in the year 2410, with the continuity of each SIM existing in the same setting as the other SIM’s in this division. The in-character actions and developments of the invididual SIMs contribute to building this larger universe, and are supported by the Fleet structures and the Divisional Command system to provide an enriched and fulfilling backdrop for players from the new cadet to the seasoned senior officer. One of the advantages of a singular Star Trek Universe for the SIMs and players to interact in are the Fleet and Division level in-character staff who work to create an enjoyable larger whole in support of the SIMs that are the primary source of the TrekOps Division’s dynamic environment. In-character developments at the Fleet and Division level are not there to replace the experience of the SIMs, but to support and enrich them.
SIMs are logistically grouped into Fleets, of which TrekOps has two currently active:
- 1st Fleet “Alpha” : Responsible for the defense of the Federation in the Alpha Quadrant as well as overseeing the exploration of the Gamma Quadrant.
- 2nd Fleet “Beta” : Tasked with protecting the Federation in the Beta Quadrant while directing the exploratory expeditions in the Delta Quadrant.
Each Fleet is led by a Fleet Commander and a Deputy Fleet Commander from either a Fleet Headquarters instillation or a Flagship, who are responsible for coordinating Fleet-wide plots and providing support to SIM command teams. Each Fleet may have In Character Fleet Staff to assist in providing an in-depth command structure for SIM players to utilize.
The Fleet Commanders are led by the Divisional Commander, who acts as the CinC of Starfleet in the TrekOps Universe, and is assisted by two Deputy Division Commanders; the Starfleet Chief of Operations who assists in coordination with Trek Operations (Fleets), and the Starfleet Chief of Staff who coordinates the Agencies and Federation Council In-Character support staff.
