It’s Our Silver Anniversary!

It’s with great pleasure that I announce the official start to the UCIP Holiday Season. This year we celebrate the organization’s silver anniversary. Seriously. We’ve reached 25 years of continuous excellence within the Star Trek and Simming communities as a whole and we have so very much to show for it.

As such, this year we will be hosting an open house festival taking place from December 6th – 8th. All of our SIMs are required to come up with a presentation about themselves. This can be in any format the command teams choose, but we ask that they include details about what it is that makes them worthy of being one of UCIP’s illustrious simulations. I may be biased, but I truly believe that we showcase the best that the community has to offer.

In addition to these presentations there will be open role play on our Discord channel, workshops, and our first annual UCIP Go Boldly Awards will be presented in style on Saturday, December 7th at 6:00pm EST!

The UCIP Go Boldly Awards are our answer to the Academy Awards and are designed to showcase the best and the brightest each year. This year, current command teams may choose from ANY pieces and plots written throughout the history of their simulation during its time within UCIP. From there they will submit them to our panel of 5 judges, all of which are from communities outside of UCIP. None of them are actively playing within our organization, and with the rare exception of one, they aren’t even UCIP Alumni. We will say this… The UCIP Alumni member is a published author and brilliant mind behind a major piece of internet technology we know, love, and use almost daily.

That said, we will announce the identities of our judges once final submissions have been made, and they are due from October 1st through 11:59pm EST on November 25th.

In addition to, and as part of, the UCIP Go Boldly Awards, we are hosting submissions for our UCIP Build Your Future Contest. This contest encompasses submissions for all of our ‘technical’ awards between artistic merit and Research and Development techniques. Any and all currently active players within UCIP may submit content to be judged by our panel of experts.

And the best part of this fantastic evening? It will be hosted by none other than Charles Star!

For more information on how you can submit to host a workshop, please eMail me at or poke me on Facebook or Discord.

this particular award will be awarded to the SIM and Players with the most number of wins for the year and the members of the organization’s alumni that have gone above and beyond over the years.

(NOTE: Logs are chosen and submitted by command teams. Logs from the Admiralty/Fleet level may be selected and submitted by anyone so long as they are affiliated with a UCIP SIM/Fleet Level platform. Submissions can only be made to sub-categories. Parent category winners will be picked from the winners of sub-categories. Winning characters will be chosen from logs submitted. Deadline to submit logs and other submissions for entry and inclusion is 11:59 PM EST November 27th, no exceptions.)

  1. Command Teams may submit up to 3 logs, or 2 plots, per sub-category. Multi-post or split logs count as 1 log but must be correctly labeled. You may nominate the same log and plot in as many sub-categories that you see fit.
  2. Players may converse with their SIM’s command team to collaborate on choosing items to submit as nominations or command teams may choose to make their submissions in private.
  3.  Players submitting to the UCIP Build Your Future Contest must be currently active on at least one SIM or a contributing member of the Admiralty.
  4. Players submitting to the UCIP Build Your Future Contest may only submit one nomination per sub-category. However, you may not submit the same item for consideration in multiple sub-categories.
  5. This is the only year that timelines will not count. Submissions can be of plots, logs, and other items from any point during your career and/or SIM’s life within UCIP.

The correct way to submit logs/plots/items for consideration is to follow the following structure;
